Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation, Sherif Fathy, said no theory can be ruled out regarding the disappearance of EgyptAir’s aeroplane, yet the possibility of a terror attack is more likely than a technical fault.
No distress signal was detected, the minister added based on a statement by the Egyptian Armed forces,
“There was a mistake made by an official somewhere. He talked about a signal and then a few minutes after he came back and apologized, and he came back and said ‘sorry there was no signal’. After his first statement we all went to the press and said the signal was received, thereafter we denied that and we admit there was a mistake that happened”, said the minister.
Further, he denied all releases pointing out that the aeroplane is wrecked, calrifying “analysts made paradoxical assumptions. We confirm that the plane is just lost”, said the minister.
Moreover, he denied the assumption that a previous technical fault in 2013 led to a possible wreckage. “Such assumption makes no sense as planes are periodically receiving maintenance”, the minister concluded.
