Flight ticket prices in UAE plunge on oversupply

Dubai – Mubasher: The UAE-based carriers are eager to acquire the biggest possible share of passengers. To this end, they have launched offers include discounts on flight tickets.

While flight prices are based mainly on demand, the oversupply of airline seats dragged down prices, informed sources in travel and tourism sector told Mubasher.

Occupancy rates are varied between different destinations and times, they added, concluding that Beirut flights, for instance, could register an occupancy rate of 60% in normal days, to reach to 80%-90% on weekends.
