Flydubai, Air Arabia record AED 7.5bn revenue in 12M

Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai-based airline flydubai and Air Arabia registered AED 915 million in ancillary revenues during 2017, while both UAE-based carriers recorded around AED 7.5 billion in revenue, according to Al Khaleej newspaper.

Flydubai’s number of passengers went up 5.5% year-on-year to 10.9 million in 2017, while the airline’s cargo revenue reached AED 131.2 million in the previous year, Al Khaleej reported.

Meanwhile, Air Arabia’s transported over 8.5 million passengers in the last four quarters, the Emirati newspaper revealed.​

Flydubai and Air Arabia incurred AED 2.4 billion in fuel costs in 2017, which made up 28% of their operating costs.
