Flynas first Saudi airline to receive Airbus A320neo

Riyadh — Mubasher: Saudi budget airline Flynas has received the first of its Airbus A320neo Family aircraft.

The 80 aircraft purchase order was made in January 2017 and their delivery was set to begin this year until 2026, the Saudi Arabian low-fare carrier, which currently operates a fleet of 30 A320ceos, said.

The deal makes Flynas the first operator in the GCC nation to buy the A320neo.

Powered by CFM International’s LEAP-1A engines, the A320neo will support the Saudi airline’s ambitious expansion plans, along with providing greater operational efficiency and passenger comfort.

It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia is the Middle East’s biggest domestic aviation market.

Established in 2007, Flynas, part owned by Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal’s firm, last year carried more than 6.4 million passengers, while transferring over 3 million passengers in the first six months of this year.
