Foreign, Arab sell-offs weigh on EGX early Wednesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Wednesday’s trading session in red territory.

By 10:30 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index slipped 44.34 points, 0.33%, to 13,430.21 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched down 0.01% to 673.53 points, while the broader EGX100 index dipped 0.09% to 1,695.87 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index tumbled 0.4% to 2,160 points.

Trading volume amounted to 7.98 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 41.9 million through 1,700 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 2.13 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 731,900 and EGP 1.39 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) added 0.51% to EGP 81.
