Foreign buying boosts EGX early Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session in green territory on the back of foreign purchases.

By 10:27 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.44% to 13,584.32 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index levelled up 0.22% to 693.57 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.24% to 1,745.51 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index rose 0.6% to 2,121.7 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 5.6 million shares exchanged through 772 transactions at a turnover of EGP 14.27 million.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 10.2 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 9.9 million and EGP 244,600, respectively.
