Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Thursday’s trading session in positive territory, buoyed by foreign buying.
By 10:23 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.34% to 14,695.2 points, gaining 49.13 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.16% to 709.18 points, while the broader EGX100 index inched up 0.19% to 1,786.77 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.43% to 2,404 points.
The bourse’s trading volume reached 20.6 million shares exchanged through 1,700 transactions at a turnover of EGP 58.44 million.
Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 2.7 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 1.8 million and EGP 892,200, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) levelled up 1.37% to EGP 69.7, with a turnover of EGP 372,500.
