Foreign buying boosts EGX early Tuesday

Cairo – Mubasher: Foreign purchases have pushed up the indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) early Tuesday.

By 10:33 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.45% to 13,395.56 points, gaining 59.81 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.02% to 685.69 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.07% to 1,722 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.13% to 2,197 points.

Meanwhile, trading volume amounted to 13.01 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 65.5 million through 1,700 transactions.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 2.7 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 1.88 million and EGP 828,160, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 0.92% to EGP 76.03.
