Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Wednesday’s trading session up, on the back of foreign buying.
By 10:24 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index gained 248.31 points, or 1.41%, to 17,740 points.
The EGX70 index edged up 0.47% to 878.88 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.8% to 2,275 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index rose 1.25% to 3,051 points.
Trading volume reached about 184.9 million exchanged at EGP 357.4 million through 4,500 transactions.
Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 20.7 million, while Arab and Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 15.5 and EGP 5.1 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) went up 0.35% to EGP 87.85.
