Cairo – Mubasher: Banks' total foreign-currency deposits increased by 3.2% year-on-year at the end of June, registering EGP 716.9 billion from EGP 694.2 billion.
On a monthly basis, deposits in foreign currencies rose slightly from around EGP 716.4 billion in May, according to a statement by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) on Sunday.
It is worth noting that the North African nation’s net international reserves reached $44.315 billion by the end of July.
This means that Egyptian foreign exchange reserves are still rising, increasing by around 0.40% compared to its level by the end of May, when it totalled $44.138 billion.
