Foreign institutions push EGX to close in green

Cairo-Mubasher: The Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) saw a bullish performance on Wednesday, backed by the purchases of foreign institutions.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.61% or 46 points to reach 7,543 points.

The EGX70 and EGX100 indices grew 0.6% and 0.63% to 375.3 points and 787.2 points, respectively. Similarly, the EGX50 index added 0.62% to 1,407.8 points.

Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) was one of the best performers after adding 0.28% to EGP 42.6, with a turnover of EGP 95.8 million.

The market saw a turnover amounting to EGP 522.5 million. A total of 64 companies closed in the green, while 56 declined and 40 remained unchanged.

Foreign and Egyptian institutions were net buyers with EGP 46.8 million and EGP 9.1 million, respectively. Meanwhile, Arab institutions were net sellers with EGP 5.7 million.

Foreign investors, including both individuals and institutions, were net buyers with EGP 46.7 million, while local and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 33.2 million and EGP 13.4 million, respectively.
