Foreign workers in Egypt’s public sector rise 27% in 2017 – CAPMAS

Cairo – Mubasher: Number of foreign nationals working in the Egyptian public sector jumped 27.3% in 2017, Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics’ (CAPMAS) data showed.

Foreign workers in the North African country’s government sector reached 1,132, comprising 1,020 men and 112 women, last year, against 889 employees in 2016, according to the state-run agency's statement on Thursday.

Workers from European nations ranked first in Egypt’s public sector with 658 persons, representing 58.1%, followed by 194 persons from Non-Arab Asian countries, making up 17.1%, and workers from Oceania states reached 43, representing 3.8%.
