France’s AFD offers EUR 15m to support Egypt’s efforts against COVID-19

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian ministries of international cooperation and health signed an agreement with the French ambassador to Cairo Stephane Romatet to obtain EUR 15 million from the French Development Agency (AFD).

The funding will be used to purchase medical equipment and protective gear for healthcare workers to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), minister of international cooperation Rania Al-Mashat said in a statement on Monday. 

The health minister Hala Zayed revealed that the country is working with the AFD in developing primary healthcare units in five governorates; namely, Port Said, Suez, Ismailia, Sharqiya, and Dakahlia.
