Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Alstom is planning to establish a tram line in Abu Dhabi, the France-based conglomerate said on the sidelines of a press tour at its factories.
The tram and metro lines will be suitable for the emirate as they are sustainable means of transportation and boost traffic efficiency, Al-Ittihad newspaper reported, citing the firm as saying.
Alstom gave no further details on the cost of Abu Dhabi's tram project or its timeframe.
The French power and transport engineering company is seeking to implement further expansion in the UAE through benefiting from investment opportunities of the future.
Alstom’s stake in this project amounted to EUR 1.3 billion.
The French train-maker will also carry out Dubai tramway project which will cost about EUR 700 million.
