Cairo – Mubasher: Almost 160 French firms are currently operating in Egypt with up to $5 billion in investments, France’s secretary of state to the Minister of the Economy and Finance said on Tuesday.
Egypt has succeeded in providing a suitable environment to attract foreign investors, Agnès Pannier-Runacher stressed.
She added that reforms done by the Egyptian investment ministry have helped encourage French companies to pump further investments in Egypt, according to a statement by the Egyptian investment ministry.
This came on the sidelines of the Egypt-France Business Council’s meeting.
For her part, the Egyptian investment minister said that Egypt is ready to welcome more French investments.
Foreign direct investment (FDI) has increased in Egypt despite falling globally, Sahar Nasr pointed out.
