Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The consumer price index (CPI) of Fujairah registered an increase of 4.48% in the emirate’s inflation during May, according to a recent official report by the Fujairah Statistics Center.
Fujairah’s inflation in the tobacco basket reached 55.52% in May, followed by an incline of 14.73% in the transportation services basket due to an increase in petrol derivatives, Fujairah Statistics Center’s report added.
As for the food and beverages basket in Fujairah registered an inflation of 2.55%.
The inflation seen in most of Fujairah’s CPI baskets is attributed to the impact of applying the value added tax in the beginning of 2018.
