Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: ADNOC Distribution on Sunday announced the inauguration of the first of ten Géant Express branded convenience stores at its service stations in the UAE.
The other nine stores are projected to open at the Abu Dhabi-based firm’s sites in the second and third quarters of 2018, ADNOC Distribution said in a statement.
Accordingly, customers at the Al Mushrif store in Abu Dhabi will experience improved services with an entirely different new design and a renewed focus on fresh food starting this week, the Emirati firm said.
The company has conducted some remarkable changes at the first store in preparation for the opening to refit with the Géant Express brand, the UAE’s largest fuel and convenience retailer highlighted.
“ADNOC Distribution is determined to offer our convenience store customers more choice, service and convenience as we transform into a more customer-centric company,” ADNOC Distribution’s CEO Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi commented.
“As 2018 progresses, I’m confident our customers will embrace the improvements to the design, layout and product mix of our convenience stores, along with our new approach to customer service,” Al Rashdi continued.
ADNOC Distribution remarked that the newly opened Géant Express store at Al Mushrif features an improved groceries section, in addition to new ‘food to go’ and ‘food for now’ assortments, which give customers options to choose between a wide range of freshly made sandwiches.
Moreover, the bakery section has been enhanced to include healthy alternatives such as dates and fruits, the company indicated, adding that the store will also offer a range of accessories, including baby goods and travel goods.
In March, ADNOC Distribution had signed an agreement with Urban Foods, the operator of the Géant Express brand, to open 10 convenience stores at the UAE-based firm’s service stations in the UAE.
Upon the agreement, Urban Foods will be responsible for category management, supply chain, and logistics, while ADNOC Distribution will remain the owner and operator of the convenience stores.
The rebranded convenience stores will open in 10 sites, including seven in Abu Dhabi, two in Sharjah and one in Ajman.
