GAC to open new facilities in Abu Dhabi in 2020

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: GAC, the leading shipping and logistics company, announced that it will open new facilities in the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD).

GAC will open a warehouse that will serve a wide range of sectors including oil and gas, manufacturing, construction, FMCG, household effects, and specialist equipment, Arabian News reported.

“GAC has been actively serving ship owners and operators at Khalifa Port for many years. Abu Dhabi is increasingly becoming a major global hub for logistics and shipping, and so it is only natural that a player of GAC’s scale and reputation would be looking to expand its presence in the emirate,” Samir Chaturvedi, CEO of KIZAD, said.

The new facility is expected to be operational in early 2020, GAC said, giving no further details on the project’s cost.

The major shipping, logistics and marine services provider already has facilities at Sila, Ruwais, Mussafah, Mina Zayed and Abu Dhabi International Airport.

“By joining the thriving KIZAD community, GAC becomes the latest major enterprise to realise the impact that the strategic location and exceptional infrastructure and support offered by our zone can have on their business,” Chaturvedi added.

It is worth noting that KIZAD Logistics City is nearby Khalifa Port, one of the fastest growing ports in the world.
