Mubasher: GCC equity markets are forecast to resume its volatile trading activity after the end of Eid al-Adha vacation with speculations about further losses over the coming sessions in September, according to analysts.
GCC Market analysts Mohamed Mahdi and Inas Imaqdeesh said regional bourses are still suffering from lower liquidity levels, namely that investors are still waiting for positive data to start freely changing hands.
Imaqdeesh pointed out to the possible positive effect of oil prices' recovery on the regional bourses just in case that the next OPEC meeting reaches a satisfactory freeze agreement.
"The Saudi-Russian cooperation is as clear as a bell that other oil producers should compromise in the next meeting", Imaqdeesh said.
Mahdi expected most regional equity markets to see more losses on the short term as speculations about the US interest rates indicate to a possible hike and a stronger US dollar by turns, which will likely to have a negative impact on emerging markets.
