GCC-focused Aster DM Healthcare expands footprint in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh - Mubasher: GCC-based Aster DM Healthcare has launched a business in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province after acquiring a majority stake in ProCare Hospital through a joint venture (JV) with Abdulrahman Saleh Al Rajhi and Partners Co. Group.

The facility will be rebranded as Aster ProCare Hospital, becoming part of Aster’s growing healthcare network across the GCC region, according to a press release.

This takeover reflects Aster’s commitment to supporting Saudi Vision 2030 by bringing in Aster’s legacy of trusted care and high-quality, patient-centric healthcare services to the region.

As part of its investment plan, Aster will more than double the hospital’s licensed capacity, increasing the number of beds from 100 to 209. The expansion will be accompanied by the introduction of new medical specialties, advanced healthcare technologies, and enhanced clinical services.

The integration will also witness the implementation of Aster’s clinical governance framework, the strengthening of cardiology offerings, and the gradual rollout of digital healthcare solutions, including the myAster platform, to improve patient access, care coordination, and continuity of treatment.

Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, Azad Moopen, said: "By strengthening infrastructure, expanding clinical capabilities, and integrating global best practices, we aim to further enhance access to high-quality, patient-centric care and contribute meaningfully to the evolution of the Kingdom’s healthcare ecosystem."

CEO of Aster Hospitals & Clinics, KSA, Mohamed Alshammari, commented: “The planned expansion and service enhancements support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals by strengthening healthcare infrastructure, improving patient outcomes, and expanding access to world-class medical services.”
