GCC healthcare spending seen rising to $60bn

Dubai-Mubasher: Spending on the healthcare sector in the GCC region is expected to reach U.S. $60 billion by 2025 on population growth and high number of chronic diseases, according to a report by Royal Philips.

The region is witnessing a rapid population increase and high number of chronic diseases, said Arjen Radder, CEO of Royal Philips in the Middle East and Turky.

He added that the healthcare sector is being developed to cope with top-notch technologies and benefit from its new capabilities.

Telemedicine offers high-quality services and improves the total cost management, Radder noted.
