Doha – Decypha: The number of industrial workers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries increased to reach 1.6 million workers in 2015, compared to only 774,000 in 2015, according to the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC).
In terms of share, the workforce in manufacturing fabricated metal products amounts to 25.8% of the total manufacturing labour force in the GCC countries, followed by cement and building materials at 16.8%, the chemical and petrochemical industry at 15.8%, the food products and beverages amounting to 15.4%, plus the remaining industries.
