GCC markets seen mixed ahead of OPEC meeting – Analysts

By Mahmoud Gamal

Mubasher: GCC bourses are forecast to deliver a mixed performance during this week amid an instable mood of global and oil markets before the two-day OPEC meeting that will start on 26 September, according to analysts.

Market analyst Inas Imaqdeesh told Mubasher that the regional markets are technically moving downwards and may be rather subjected to speculative rise over the coming sessions.

The equity markets are still in dire need to real momentum that will help maintain the current levels and re-target new marks, said technical analysts Foua'd Darwish, adding that quick speculations are seen the best trading strategy in the upcoming sessions.

Traders are expected to decrease their positions and to sell stocks that have already reached its peak, namely in emerging markets, Mohamed Al-Harbi, a portfolio manager, indicated.

They are also advised to avoid carrying out large investments and to wait for the next OPEC meeting's outcome that will play a role in the markets' future trend, Imaqdeesh concluded.
