By Ramy Sameeh

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: GCC states have completed all required procedures for the launch of a common energy market this year via the join power grid, said UAE’s Deputy Energy Minister Matar Al-Neyadi.

Al-Neyadi, who is also the Chairman of Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA), added that all preparations were made but what is needed is the presence of an energy surplus in one GCC country and a need for energy supply in another one.

The statement came on the sidelines of the Global Energy Summit held in Abu Dhabi.
