Cairo – Mubasher: The German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) signed partnership agreements with three private-sector industrial developers in Egypt, namely Industrial Development Group (IDG), Polaris International Industrial Parks, and Elsewedy Industrial Development, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Monday.
The agreements come in line with the government’s approach towards supporting and developing sustainable industrial areas in the country, the Chairman of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA), Mohamed El-Zalat, said.
The partnership is aimed at transforming two industrial zones, subject to the supervision of the IDA, in Qena and Sohag and three other private-sector industrial zones in 6th of October City and 10th of Ramadan City into sustainable ones, El-Zalat added.
This includes providing comprehensive technical support to implement sustainable industrial development policies in the five industrial zones as well as offering strategies and plans to achieve meet the international administrative, economic, environmental, and societal standards.
