GMIS Forges Partnership with China

Cairo -Decypha: The Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (GMIS) 2017 announced a strategic partnership with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPPIT).

The partnership aims to provide opportunities for cooperation between the global industrial companies and China, as well as increasing Chinese investment in global industrial activity.

According to data compiled by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the People’s Republic of China (PRC) was the largest industrial nation in the world in 2014 with industrial production amounting to $1.9 trillion, surpassing the US.

The industrial sector continues to achieve growth in (PRC), driven by exports, domestic demand, the size, supported by the prosperity of the large housing sector, and government investment in infrastructure development.

"China Council seeks to promote international trade and to forge global partnerships to allow us to promote the investment opportunities and partnership with the People's Republic of China. The GMIS is an ideal platform enables us to enhance our relationships with industrial society and decision-makers at the global level, and enable us to explore joint working opportunities for the further industrial base and sustainable development,” said Zhang Wei, Vice Chairman of CCPPIT.

 The GMIS is a joint initiative between the Ministry of Economy in the UAE and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), organised under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

The summit is the first global gathering of the industrial sector brings together more than 1,200 decision-makers from the leaders of governments, businesses, and civil society organisations to adopt transformative in shaping the future of the industry.

The Chinese government has established the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in 1952 to promote the development of trade and economic relations with the Chinese investment agencies in foreign countries.
