Germany opts in Expo 2020 Dubai with EUR 50m investment

Dubai – Mubasher: Germany has signed an official participation contract for Expo 2020 Dubai, with total investment of EUR 50 million (AED 226 million), Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau stated on Wednesday.  

Two major German multinational companies are partners in the global event: SAP is official innovative enterprise software partner and Siemens is official intelligent infrastructure and operations partner, the event’s organiser added.  

“The UAE and Germany share a vision of a cleaner, more sustainable future and we are delighted that our close friends have become the latest nation to sign an official participation contract,” Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau’s director general Reem Al Hashimy commented.

Expo 2020 Dubai will run for six months from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021 and is expected to attract 25 million visitors, while over 180 countries are expected to participate.  

“Expo 2020 will bring countries and organisations together to discuss the most pressing issues facing our world and to consider solutions together, with the joint aim of pointing the way forward,” commissioner general of the German pavilion Dietmar Schmitz concluded.
