Global, regional economics curb QSE appetite - Analyst

Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) remains overshadowed by political instability in the region and falling oil prices, leading investors to become increasingly reluctant to put their money back to work, leaving the room for speculators to take control, markets analyst Ayoub Eshban told Mubasher on Tuesday.

“The general trend is still leaning toward more declines, forced by external factors, whether were political in the form of regional and global tensions or economic in the form of decreasing oil prices, while the local market continues to offer no help,” Eshban explained.

“Despite that most shares dropped to alluring prices for buying and investing, fears of a continuing fall make a lot of investors hesitant to trade in these shares at present,” he added.

The bourse’s main index closed Monday at the level of 9,906 after shrinking 0.07% or about 6.92 points.
