Gold loses $26/ounce as dollar rises

Mubasher: Gold price declined on Monday’s trading, as the U.S. dollar advanced and Asian shares moved back to the green zone.

The U.S. dollar index climbed against a basket of world currencies by 0.27% to a week-high of 96.26.

The Euro fell against the dollar by 0.38% to the level 1.1212 per dollar.Sterling pound also dipped against the dollar by 0.04% to 1.4503 per dollar.

Asian indexes were up today headed by Japan's Nikkei index that pulled ahead 7%, while China's Shanghai index fell by 0.63%.

Gold was down by 2.07% losing $25.6 to reach the level of $1213.80 per ounce.

Silver also declined by 3.26% to $15.315 per ounce.

Palladium dipped by 0.05% to $519.20 per ounce.

The price of platinum fell by 1.43% to $938 per ounce.
