Gold prices down; US dollar higher at open

Mubasher: Gold prices declined in Monday’s early trades amid the rise of US dollar.

In the London Metal Exchange (LME), gold prices decreased by 0.25% to reach $1,331.2 per ounce by 8:32am GMT.

Gold futures retreated 0.21 to reach $1,332.1 per ounce.

The US dollar (DXY), which tracks it against a basket of six currencies, rose 0.14% to reach 95.4 during the same time.
