Gold prices end Friday on slight rise, weekly decline

Mubasher: Gold prices went up by the end of Friday trade, after the revelation of the most recent US jobs data, however, it registered weekly losses.

Gold futures for December delivery rose by 0.1% to the level of $1,274.9 per ounce, registering a weekly decline of 0.8%.

Data showed that the American economy lost 33,000 jobs last month, for the first time since 2010, while unemployment rate reached its lowest level in 17 years at 4.2%.

Wages also grew by 2.9% year-on-year, compared to an increase of 2.7% in July.
