Gold prices rise Monday; dollar jittery

Mubasher: Gold prices increased during Monday’s trading session, whereas the USD saw a fluctuating performance, and international stock markets dropped.

By 9:00 am GMT, gold futures inched up 0.09% to reach $1,270.4 per ounce, while spot gold saw a similar marginal increase to $1,271 per ounce.

The dollar shed some of its earlier gains against a basket of currencies and was jittery overall during Monday’s trades.

As investors headed to the safe haven gold, Japan’s Nikkei index closed Monday stable, while European bourses declined in their early trades.

Last week, the US Federal Reserve decided to keep interest rates unchanged but analysts forecast that the US Central Bank will raise rates in its December meeting.
