Mubasher: Gold prices registered the highest performance in more than three weeks in Tuesday's early trade ahead of the US Federal meeting.
By 4:15am GMT, spot gold futures rose 0.4% to $1278.15 per ounce.
US gold futures reached $1275.7 an ounce, which is the highest performance since October 2016.
Silver increased 0.6% to $17.9 an ounce.
At the same time, the US dollar index went up 0.12% to 98.44 against a basket of currencies.
Investors' appetite for gold is likely to increase ahead of the US Federal meeting and the presidential election to avoid risks, said commodity analyst Ragb Hamed, adding prices are forecast to reach the $1,290-1,320 area over the coming sessions.
