Gold prices up to highest level in two weeks

Mubasher: Gold prices rose on Tuesday, reaching its highest levels in two weeks, on the back of rising political tensions.

Gold futures for December delivery went up by 0.6%, and closed at the level of $1,293.2 per ounce.

Investors lean towards safer investments in times of crisis, with growing concerns in Europe and the world regarding the issue of the Catalan independence in Spain, as well as the rising geopolitical risks due to threats between the United States and North Korea, with the later recently saying that it is planning in the upcoming period to test long-range missile attacks that can reach the west cost of the US.

Fears also rose after it was reported that the American President is refusing to sign the extension of the Iran Nuclear Agreement.
