Goods, industry boost QSE at Sunday’s open

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Sunday’s trading in the green, encouraged by the growth of five sectors.

By 10:00 am Qatar time, the general index inched up 6.03 points, or 0.08%, to 9,104.01 points.

The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 8.2 million after 272,600 million shares traded through 211 transactions.

The industrial sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 0.17% after Qatar Electricity and Water Company rose 0.75%.

Similarly, the real estate sector levelled up 0.14% as Barwa Real Estate went up 0.26%, while the goods sector inched up 0.04% on the back of Qatar Fuel’s 0.43% increase.

Meanwhile, the transportation sector topped the market’s losers falling 0.56% as Qatar Navigation declined 1.56%.

The banking sector went down 0.13%, dragged by Qatar Islamic Bank and National Leasing Holding Company which dropped 0.94% and 0.09%, respectively.

Gulf International Services’ stock, which advanced 0.56%, led the bourse in terms of trading volume with 96,600 shares, while Qatar Electricity and Water Company, which grew 0.75%, topped the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 2.3 million.
