Google denies receiving info on new Ad taxes from Egypt’s gov’t

Cairo – Mubasher: Google has not received any information from the Egyptian government concerning imposing new taxes on advertisements, Google’s country manager for Egypt Hisham El-Nazer said. 

The US tech giant will cooperate with the Egyptian government in case of levying taxes on Ads, he added during a conference held on Monday.

Previously, government sources revealed that the country’s finance ministry considers imposing a value-added tax of 14% on social media and online search ads.

In addition, Google is currently in talks with the tourism ministry to increase the number of tourists visiting Egypt.
