Gov’t invests EGP 5.5bn in Sinai - Minister

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development is investing around EGP 5.5 billion to serve the people of Sinai.

Investments will be directed to roads, housing, and developmental projects from tribal communities, housing minister Mostafa Madbouli said in a statement on Wednesday.

More megaprojects are set to be executed, in line with the strategy approved by President Abdelfattah El-Sisi a few weeks ago.

The President said in February that Sinai development began from 2014 and would continue until 2022, with total investments of EGP 275 billion ($15.5 billion).
