By: Ahmad Awad

Kuwait – Mubasher: Al Dabdaba solar plant will start operating in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2020/2021, Kuwait’s oil minister, Essam Al-Marzouq, said.

The solar plant project will be established inside the multi-technology Shagaya Renewable Energy, which is a government initiative currently being managed by Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), the minister said on the sidelines of the conference held on Wednesday.

The project is expected to produce 15% of the annual power consumption; 2.45 million megawatt hours per year, Al-Marzouq noted. He added that the project will limit the carbon dioxide emissions which stand at 1.3 million tons per annum.
