Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian General Authority for Governmental Services has held 145 auctions during fiscal year 2019/2020.
The sales generated from vehicles and other cargo abandoned at ports as well as properties in the favour of the country’s administrative bodies reached EGP 1.184 billion, a 31.6% increase from the target, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Sunday.
This increase came in spite of the three-month halt of auctions amid the coronavirus crisis.
From 12 to 31 July, sales of containers abandoned at ports amounted to EGP 44.550 million, Head of the General Authority for Governmental Services, Ezz El-Din Zein El-Aabydin, said.
