Gulf countries facing deep crisis - Minister

Mubasher: Member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are going through a new severe crisis that could cause serious damages, said the UAE minister of state for foreign affairs Anwar Gargash.

The solution to the crisis between brothers requires the sincerity of intentions and the commitment to build mutual trust and restoring credibility, and open a new page that does not lead to the same road.

The Emirati minister added that the UAE supports unity, noting that the UAE does not live in an isolated bubble that is not affected by its surroundings.

Gargash also called for openings, honesty in order to achieve unity and face the threats that are facing the region.

This comes after the state-run Qatar News Agency (QNA) published remarks by the Qatari Emir and other officials praising Iran, and considering it a main pillar for stability in the Middle East.

The remarks were widely criticized in the gulf countries, only for the QNA to later say that its website was hacked, a claim that was refuted by Al Arabiya which stressed the difficulty of hacking the news agency’s website and social media accounts.
