Gulf markets to hold despite lower oil prices

Mubasher: Stock markets across the GCC region and Egypt are expected to hold at their current levels amid lower oil prices, analysts told Mubasher.

Main Gulf markets declined on Monday to erase the gains they achieved on Sunday.

GCC markets are likely to continue their volatile trend this week, said Mahmoud Abou Zeid, a financial analyst at Namaa Consulting

He added that the stock markets will not recover until the oil prices stabilise.

The Gulf stocks reached low price levels after the upward trend they witnessed on Sunday, said Wadah Al Taha, member of UAE National Advisory Board, Chartered Institute for Securities &Investments (CISI), UK.

Al Taha advised investors to make quick speculations on blue-chip stocks as they have uncertainities and fears over the markets' trend.
