Cairo – Mubasher: The chairman of the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport (HCMLT), Mohamed Youssef, said Thursday that the company has completed studies to establish a second container terminal in the East Port Said Port with a total cost of $765 million.
“The HCMLT is currently cooperating with the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) to set up the second container terminal via Port Said Container and Cargo Handling Company,” Youssef told Mubasher.
Youssef added that HCMLT is seeking to form an alliance with PSCCHC and a global alliance to execute the new terminal, noting that an initial form for was prepared to establish a 1,200-meter berth on an area of 540,000 square meters.
The chairman expected the project to be finished in 36 months.
