Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court’s chairman, on Wednesday opened Ducab Aluminium Company (DAC) in the Khalifa Industrial Zone of Abu Dhabi (KIZAD).
DAC was injected with AED 220 million in investments and it is a joint venture between Ducab and Senaat companies, according to a company statement.
The aluminium manufacturer collaborates with Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) to provide the latter with molten aluminium, Ducab stated.
“The launch of Ducab Aluminium Company extends the UAE’s industrial capabilities and addresses the growing aluminium market globally,” said Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, Ducab’s Chairman.
By reaching its fullest capacities in both national and global markets, the new company is expected to manufacture 50,000 metric tonnes of aluminium rod and overhead conductor annually, Ducab revealed.
“DAC has already signed rod supply contracts to service customers across the GCC, India, Lebanon, North America and select markets in Africa, while further expansions are also being planned for Latin America and Europe,” Ahmad Bin Hassan Al Shaikh, Ducab’s vice chairman, Commented.
