Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Planning, Monitoring, and Administrative Reform announced that the sustainable development plan for fiscal year 2019/2020 includes injecting investments of EGP 27.5 billion to healthcare services, compared to EGP 21.8 billion in FY18/19, Ahram reported on Thursday.
Public investments accounted for 60.7% or EGP 16.71 billion of the total value of investments allocated to the healthcare sector under the second phase of the ministry’s plan, while private investments made up 39.3%.
It is noteworthy that government investments represented 87% of these public investments.
The planning ministry aims to provide the neediest areas in Egypt with primary healthcare services, develop nursing services, offer preventive medicine, and increase the number of beds at hospitals by 1,200 every year.
