Kuwait – Mubasher: Hilal Cement registered a plunge of 91.3% in losses during the second quarter of 2017 compared to the same period a year ago.
Losses shrank to about KWD 34,300 ($113,300) in Q2-17 from nearly KWD 394,300 ($1.3 million) in Q2-16, the company said in a bourse filing issued on Tuesday.
During the first six months of 2017, Hilal Cement’s profits surged by 343.5% to about KWD 91,800 compared to nearly KWD 20,700 in the same period a year ago.
It is noteworthy that the company posted a retreat of 69.62% in profits to around KWD 126,080 from about KWD 415,000 in Q1-16.
