Riyadh – Mubasher: Hilton on Monday uncovered plans to establish over 10,000 rooms in Saudi Arabia over the coming three to five years or specifically between 2022 and 2024.
The hotel operator will bolster its presence in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with the oil-rich kingdom having there the largest number of hotels under development.
Hilton’s planned investment is forecast to enhance the Saudi tourism sector, which relies heavily on religious tourism and attracts over 2 million visitors per year.
"This represents our largest pipeline in the Middle East and the confidence we have in the strength of the market with increasing demand for business, leisure, and religious tourism,” Hilton’s vice president of development in MENA Carlos Khneisser said on the sidelines of the Saudi Hotel Investment Conference.
Hilton also confirmed it would execute three new projects in the Saudi market soon, namely two DoubleTree in Abha and DoubleTree and Hilton Garden Inn, both in Madinah.
These hotels will be built by cooperating with various developers including Hilton Abha Al Murooj, Mazaya International Company for Real Estate Development and Investment, Pan Kingdom Holdings, and Hilton Madinah.
Hilton, which has been operating in Saudi Arabia since 1992, further revealed that the three underway hotels were slated for inauguration by 2022.
