Household power prices rise 24% - Minister

Cairo – Mubasher: Electricity prices for households in Egypt are set to increase by 24.4% in the coming period, electricity minister Mohamed Shaker has said on Tuesday.

The total rise of electricity prices which will be implemented as of next July will not exceed 26%, Shaker added during a press conference.

The Egyptian official further noted that power subsidy has been cancelled for the users whose consumption pass 1,000 kilowatts per month.
