Cairo - Mubasher: Hurghada International Airport has received the first Russian flight, operated by EgyptAir, from Moscow, marking the return of Russian tourists to Egyptian resorts.
"Egypt’s precautionary measures and ensuring the safety and security of our guests and staff were true assurance for the return of tourism from many countries," Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Promotion, Lamia Kamel, said in a statement on Monday.
Earlier, Russia ended a six-year ban on direct flights to Egyptian Red Sea resorts.
This is the first time for EgyptAir to operate direct flights between Moscow and Hurghada, Amr Aboul Enein, Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company, said.
EgyptAir's Airbus A300-330 plane took off from Moscow with 300 tourists and landed in Hurghada on Monday.
