Mubasher: The airline industry is seen posting earnings of $36.3 billion next year on the back of lower oil prices and stronger travel demand, said the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
The net profit forecast for next year reflects a 5.1% profit margin for the industry, Iata said. It also revised its net profit outlook for this year to $33 billion, up from the $29.3 billion predicted in June.
For Middle East carriers, their combined profits are seen at $1.4 billion this year, lower than previously anticipated profit of $1.8 billion.
Going into next year, the region’s airlines are likely to recover most of the lost ground with a $1.7 billion net profit.
