Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The first day of the International Defense Exhibition and Conference 2017 (IDEX 2017) saw the signing of 21 contracts for a total value of AED 4.4 billion ($1.2 billion), brigadier general and the official spokesman for IDEX 2017 Rashid Al Shamsi said.
The signed contracts included about 16 UAE companies and six international firms, Al Shamsi said on the sidelines of a press conference on Sunday.
The deals included a contract worth AED 394.32 million with Abu Dhabi’s International Golden Group, he noted.
He added that a deal worth AED 100.4 million was signed with Abu Dhabi Ship Building Company.
The deals also included a contract worth AED 91.4 million with the British company Hesco.
The spokesman pinpointed that a contract worth AED 85.2 million was signed with the French company Thales Underwater.
Another contract was signed with Tawazun Operation for AED 2.42 billion.
It is worth noting that IDEX and NAVDEX 2017 started on Sunday in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of 1,235 international companies from 57 countries.
